Baltika-Baku
Baltika-Baku
The Khirdalan brewery, commissioned in 1969, belonged to the Baku-Beer production union and was one of the six largest breweries in the USSR. In 1997, the plant was taken over by the French concern Group Castel. In May 2008, Baltika Breweries and Brasseries Internationales Holding (Eastern) Ltd (BIH Eastern) signed an agreement to purchase a brewery in Khirdalan. After the transaction was approved by the antimonopoly authorities of Azerbaijan, the plant became part of the Baltika company. In May 2009 the Baltika-Baku plant was opened after reconstruction. Over 20 million US dollars have been invested in the modernization of the enterprise. Baltika-Baku products occupy about 75% of the Azerbaijani market.
